Many times implant placement is the only solution for restoring lost teeth instead of a partial denture. In the absence of posterior teeth, we can not construct conventional bridges, so a unique solution besides the implants would be the application of a mobile construction. With the choice of implants, however, we can give solution to patients who require an immobile restoration and otherwise we would be compromised with a partial denture.

There are cases where it is not possible to place the desired number of implants because there is no required bone volume, there is proximity to anatomical elements, or there are other reasons. The placement of one or a few implants and their attachment to one or more natural teeth is possible under certain conditions because the implants are firmly attached to the bone while the teeth exhibit a normal movement with frequent occurrence of the immersion of the natural teeth. In cases where an implant tooth is bonded the best results are expected when stuck with permanent cement. As a conclusion, we would say that where we can place the required number of implants, we prefer to build rehabilitation based only on implants. But if we need to build a bridge that rests on an implant and a natural tooth then a bridge bonded with permanent cement should be used.
